The STOP process
Sometimes repetitive thoughts can become overwhelming and distract us from the authentic life we were born to lead; dimming our lights and distracting us from our true path.
I find the the STOP practice is a great tool to get us out of the spiral of whirring thoughts and overwhelm. We feel grounded, clear and back into the now of the gift of the present.
There are four simple steps to follow; it is easy to remember; it can be practiced anywhere at anytime; it takes moments and it works.
Step 1.
Sense and become aware of the thought that is whirring around in your head. Visualize this thought as a sentence or choose another image to represent it. Sense it physically leave from the top of your head and move down the front of your body to rest in front of your heart.
Step 2.
Trust. When we trust; it is from the heart. Our heart knows.
Allow the image or sentence to be gently placed into your heart knowing that your heart has the answer.
Step 3.
Open to knowing that your heart has the best answer and if there is indeed an answer to be had; your heart will provide the answer at exactly the right time for you. If it is simply unserving noise; it will melt away with love.
Step 4.
Practice any kind of activity you wish. Meditate; practice being present; go for a walk; play games or sports; play your favourite piece of music and dance. Move your body in a way that brings you back into the now as you trust that all is in good hands or heart. :)
Following the above steps will bring you clarity and lead you closer to accepting all aspects of your gorgeous self and awakening to living your most beautiful life. :)
